Make a mixtape for the person you love
This is the tape people have made for each other since tapes existed, and the one people make most on SFtunes. It doesn't need an occasion. It needs twenty songs that are them, you, or both, with a note on each saying which.
When
Valentine's Day, sure. Also a random Wednesday, the end of a long week, or the moment you realize you have never actually told them.
What to put on it
- ♪The song from the night you met, or the song you've decided was playing.
- ♪The song that's just them. Everyone has one.
- ♪The song you argue about. Concede in the note.
- ♪The song for the drive home.
- ♪One for the future, saying what you hope.
The letter
Say the thing. It's a mixtape; the whole form exists so you can say the thing.
How it works
- 1. Name the tape. “For Dad.” “Road trip ’26.” “Songs I couldn’t say out loud.” The title is the cover, so say what it is.
- 2. Add the songs, up to 20. Search any song, tap to add. Write a liner note on each one if you want: why this song, why them, why now. The notes are the gift.
- 3. Write the letter. Every tape has a J-card, the fold-out card in a cassette case. Yours holds a letter only they will read, in your words, signed by you.
- 4. Flip it to a secret link and send. One link, sendable by text, email, or carrier pigeon screenshot. It is never on your profile and search engines cannot find it. Only the person holding the link can open it.
They open it like a letter: your title, your note, then the songs in your order. Every track plays a 30-second preview, and one tap opens it in their own player. No app, no account needed to listen. When they're done they can send a thanks back, or make you a whole tape in return.
They will read the notes before they play a single song.
Start this tape, always freeAbout ten minutes. No app to install.
